Cooperation for a green future: Large-scale environmental action concludes in Ashgabat
25 On June 5, Magtymguly Turkmen State University hosted the second day of the two-day environmental action titled "Cooperation for a Green Future," dedicated to World Environment Day. This was reported on the official website tebigatchy.co.tm of the organization.
As part of this large-scale event, co-organized by the Secretariat of the National Commission of Turkmenistan for UNESCO and the "Young Naturalist" public organization, a themed exhibition titled "Eco-Steps: From the Past to the Future" was launched. The exposition highlighted key achievements and promising projects in environmental education and nature conservation. National UNESCO clubs, associated schools, creative groups, and representatives of the country's private sector showcased their initiatives at the exhibition.
The environmental action featured a dedicated conference bringing together representatives from relevant government agencies, higher education institutions, public organizations, and international bodies. Participants focused on pressing global challenges, including climate change mitigation, the promotion of water diplomacy, prevention of environmental pollution, as well as ensuring ecological security and sustainable development. The speakers specifically emphasized the high efficiency of the comprehensive environmental programs consistently implemented at the state level in Turkmenistan.
The two-day environmental marathon culminated in a festive award ceremony. The organizers presented Certificates and memorable gifts to the most active participants who made a significant contribution to the success of the event.
